| Still feeling the strain from Saturday? 08:52 - Apr 15 with 361 views | IPSWICHFANITFC | Would probably be how I would describe last night. Saturday was a big ask from a physical, mental and emotional point of view. Perhaps having an away game 3 days after Saturday was the one thing we could have done without whilst we were still on the comedown from Saturday. That's football though I guess. I always feel playing the teams scrapping to stay in the league are more difficult games than those looking to be promoted. There's less quality from those down the bottom but more fight and heart. I'm sure we will be back at it again on Sunday. Keep the faith. [Post edited 15 Apr 8:52]

Also, and it pains me to say this, Norwich were a better 'footballing; team than Portsmouth (and we were the team with the defensive wall playing a significant part of the win.) Last night we encountered a more workmanlike side and paid the price, passes went astray for sure but it seemed to happen less than on Saturday. But when it happened Portsmouth were agile and determined rather than still thinking about what to do next.

At this stage of the season, teams down the bottom will always give you an honest game. They may be struggling for league position, but from Easter, it is all about accumulating points wherever possible to stay up by any means. I'm not surprised at the result last night given what happened on Saturday. For additional context, it was our first defeat since mid Feb and third league defeat of the calendar year. The control of our destiny still lies within our hands, but Sunday is a must win.

I'm not questioning the morale - I agree, it would have been high going into last night's game. Saturday was a massive day - the build up, the game and events that unfolded during the game, the aftermath etc. The boys put a lot into Saturday and perhaps going again 3 days later was too much too soon.
