Circling back to Bournemouth and McKenna 12:14 - Apr 15 with 664 viewshomer_123

I posted the other day that this is the Club I was most worried about.

Established Prem team, solid financial foundations, lot of positive stuff going on behind the scenes re. stadia, training etc. Stable owners etc.

Also, doesn't come with the 'expectations' of a Spurs, Man U etc.

The biggest single pull though and the biggest difference between us and them. Recruitment.

Their recruitment network and systems are way, way ahead of ours. They seem to be very astute in who they bring in and how they do that.

As evidenced last night, our one biggest failing is exactly this. Yes, we can accept we are somewhat playing catch up here due to years of little to no investment and it takes time.

But I do believe this is an area where KM (and his team) and Aston (and his team) diverge and more so over the last 18 months.

I think that could be a massive pull for KM at Bournemouth.

I agree on all the points apart from expectations.

Bournemouth has exactly the same 'expectations' of a Spurs, Man U etc.

They are aiming for Europe and good cup runs every season.

Mid-table premier league is no longer a success and fans aren't ever happy with stagnation. He would be expected to compete in the top 10 of the PL.

True but I would argue that it's not quite the same with them as with Spurs and Man U - that is clearly what they are aiming for but the difference is it's not a 'disaster' if they don't.

Still don’t see it. KM is obviously ambitious. He’ll have eyes on bigger clubs than Bournemouth.

Also, I would argue that they have overachieved over the last few years. Any manager going in is going to have to go some to improve their position

Exactly this, they are at their ceiling. And judging by fan comments on Twitter yesterday, they don’t want KM anyway.
