I usually stand there for hours but other clashes mean I can't get involved until later this afternoon, so not sure I'll bother. One of the Cambridge shops had people queuing from yesterday afternoon! A mate of mine got there at 5am and was 50 in the queue! He hasn't got in yet! Annoyingly, one of the records he is chasing has already been listed on Ebay for £100, which is the greedy downside of RSD. Anyone else after anything?

What’s RSD?
Record store day.
Celebrating independent record stores and the resurgance of vinyl or yet another damning indictment of the acquisitive nature of modern society? I think we should be told.
I wanted A Quick One by The Who. I've got a stereo and mono version, but the set on offer is a double LP with a bunch of other tracks from the era. I have them all in other versions, but as a set it's a good package with coloured vinyl in a nice gatefold. RSD does divide opinion a bit. There is no doubt about it that the ethos is sound and genuinely does bring a well needed boost to independent record shops, but as has already been seen today, some people abuse it and see it as nothing more than a way to make a quick buck by hovering up the rarities and selling them for massively inflated prices.
