A big ‘IF’ I know 15:13 - Apr 19 with 1386 viewsChrisd

However if we go up, time to thank KM for the terrific work and job he’s done and allow him to move on? I appreciate this might upset a few on here and I’m expecting plenty of down votes by making this suggestion, but would it be the ideal time to make a managerial change and right for all parties concerned?

Relegation hangover - look at the other relegated sides.
Much bigger turnover than expected.
Losing huge players from previous side.
Bedding in new players including players new to the league.
Building new team.
Expectation huge.
Pressure from outside.
Teams sitting in and us being there to be shot at.
Szmodics affair.
Ashton affair.

This is only his fourth full season as a manager. Not bad going eh?

Think the churn from premier league relegation/player turnover is what has cost us, we made some buys and loans which looked good on paper but haven’t worked out at all, not sure who’s fault that is but we clearly wanted to keep Wolf, Morsy, Broady.

Midfield is the area we lack in most, Azor is great but we have no replacement, Taylor willing but creativity is limited, Cajuste - not sure what’s going on there but not even close to the level. Neil looks ok but not outstanding. A key area for our team which hasn’t worked for me this season.

See also the right side, Wes looks good but if he is injured we have struggled, though Macateer has looked much brighter recently.

See also strikers.

On the positive side our defence is probably the best in the league.

The only Muff in Town.

I agree 100%, it makes sense. Hopefully can also get rid of that Gamechanger mob also and some of our better players.

It’s exactly what this club needs, a return to mediocrity.

Tongue in cheek comment….why would it not be unreasonable to appoint a manager with an EPL pedigree if we go up? Perhaps KM requires a change too?

Ok, but you simply said moving KM on best for both parties, nothing about who was replacing him.

Who is this PL experienced manager who will move us forward?

He’ll be off whether we go up or not.

He’s turned down too many other offers.

No idea that’s for others to decide, but that was my original point. Would we put ourselves in a stronger position to survive if we had someone at the helm with EPL experience and knowhow?

And I’m not too worried by that prospect either. We are a club in far better place on and off the pitch than where we were 3 or 4 seasons ago.

Completely agree.

I’d have no worries if McKenna was to go. The guys down a stunning job, but I would trust us to make another solid appointment

We need to be in a position like Brentford, Brighton and probably Bournemouth where changing managers doesn’t matter because our infrastructure, recruitment and footballing philosophy are top class. We’re not there yet
