| Charlton (A) on the train. 15:32 - Apr 20 with 647 views | Meadowlark | I see they reckon the underground could be getting back to normal by Wednesday evening. Anyone going on the train from Ipswich figured out a masterplan, or are we all just walking to London Bridge and hopping on the train, and the same in reverse afterwards? Elizabeth line is supposed to be unaffected, so maybe Liverpool Street to Farringdon and hop on the Charlton train there? Any insights/tips gratefully received. | | | | |
| Charlton (A) on the train. on 15:37 - Apr 20 with 608 views | Steve_M | It's a fairly simple walk or bus from Liverpool Street to London Bridge so that would be the sensible option. Farringdon would work but there will be more trains to Charlton from London Bridge than there. There may be some trains running all day on the Northern Line but if you have time for then allowing for the walk is going to be less annoying as they will be packed on the way down. Best to add the TFL app or Citymapper to your phone and see what the service looks like on Wednesday afternoon. [Post edited 20 Apr 15:37]

I would advise using TFL Go app, rather than CityMapper. CM is better generally, but I find often does not carry through realtime or strike info from TFL very well.

| As Steve says.... on 15:56 - Apr 20 with 502 views | Bloots | ....walk from LS to LB. It's easy, 20 mins max, and there's about a million pubs to stop at on the way. 15 mins on the train from there. On the way back the tube should be OK, so Northern Line from LB to Moorgate and 2 mins to LS from there. Quick beer at the station, on the train, home in time for tea and medals. Sorted. | |

Don't forget Cannon Street Station is only a 20 minute walk from Liverpool street & the train to charlton takes only 20-30 minutes.
