I think a Southampton win in extra time would be ideal. Players not necessarily wanting to risk injury and miss the cup final.

Makes no difference. We are assuming Southampton are world beaters. Reality is we have spent as much as them. We should go there to attack and if we win we are up. If we don’t, then we beat QPR who have been on the beach for weeks … either way.

I didn’t see it but can only assume a lot of emotional and mental energy went into it. Taking the lead so late as well that’s for to be a tough one to take.

Being 4 points behind us and knowing we still have it in our hands last day regardless and a Millwall win also would mean they finish above them, surely they’re fairly resigned to playoffs.

Not a lot I don’t think.

It’s a tough game regardless of what they did today, but one we should go to with confidence now knowing whatever the outcome we’ll have to chance to host QPR in search of the final 3 points if we need to.

We should relish the challenge, and our point today has really put us in a position to play without any fear.

Wild suggestion, I’m still not over that.

Possession is 9/10 of the law when it comes to this 2nd place given the fixtures of us and Millwall. No guarantees for either on the final day of course, but going into that game in 2nd was absolutely imperative, and we’ve done that.

Hopefully we can finish the job on Tuesday and QPR is a bit of a procession.
