I expected us to be automatically promoted this season and while I wasn't expecting 100 points/100 goals etc, I did expect it to be more comfortable than this.
However, disregarding our points total and some of our performances, if you had offered me this position at the start of the season I would have taken it. And if you told me after Middlesbrough that 3 points from 2 games would secure promotion, I wouldn't have believed you.

I would rather be us than Millwall, Saints or Boro. If we fail to get promotion we have only ourselves to blame. What other motivation does a player need. Several have been off the pace for whatever reason and really need to step up.
It has been a really strange season. This team don't have the love of the one that got us promoted and I think it's not to do with the infectious type players as Woolfy, Chappers, Morsy and co it's more to do with the fact that these players were brought in as supposedly better replacements than them and yet haven't been on such a glorious run as them with some pretty ordinary performances.
Any team would have huge difficulties in having a great start with so many changes as we did.
I think it's the fact that to get a team has taken so long.
My concerns will have to wait until hopefully we get promoted with regards to how many changes need to be made next season, but that will have to wait as the difference in what we get in and who goes may depend on which division we are in. | | | |

probably for me.
but if you add in the context of a slightly dispiriting season with the bond between the team and supporters a little frayed, a lot of money spent on players we'll need to move on or loan out and the Ashton episode, then it becomes a little less certain. |
