Listening to the latest KoA pod they had only 4-5 of the current squad as definites for the first team next season.
O'Shea, Matusiwa, Jaden/Clarke combo, Leif in a 5 [Post edited 5 May 18:27]

I really don't understand why that's such a controversial take for some?
Many have slated this squad for months (with good reason at times). Our star quality in various areas of the pitch has helped us through. We now need to find new heroes that can kick start the next chapter at Portman Road. |  | | |

You have to assume everyone we currently have out on loan elsewhere leaves in the summer. Young is retiring. Button will be gone. Townsend will be gone. Baggott won't be here. Then assume Neil, Azon and Cajuste don't sign. We are at a squad of 19 before you even think about who is good enough of the remaining default 19 players.
Of that 19, you'd expect Palmer, Akpom, Burns to go. So we are at 16. 9 signings needed just to fill a squad of 25. Remaining squad of 16:
GK - Walton
RB - Furlong/Johnson
CB - O'Shea/Kipre/Greaves
LB - Davis
CM - Matusiwa/Taylor
RM - McAteer/Egeli
10 - Nunez/Mehmeti
LM - Philogene/Clarke
ST - Hirst
You will want to upgrade 2/3 of those so it's easily 12 new signings. | | | |
