Home tickets for members next year 18:55 - May 9 with 659 viewscymroglas

Would anyone like to speculate what the position will be next year in the PL? Last time we were in the PL it was members who had purchased 5 home tickets in the preceding season that were eligible to join the ballot and could then buy before anyone else if not successful in the ballot. It was a scramble to get a ticket and I had to settle for a few RV tickets, but I got to quite a few games. What I wonder is, will there be many more eligible this time and will getting tickets be a lot more difficult…..I have no idea myself…

God knows. Wasn't there something like 50 tickets in the ballot last time? Kind of pointless really.

That's not how it worked.

- If you had membership, non ST holder and had attended at least one home game in 23/24 then you were eligible for the ballot.
- Then, if you had membership and a non ST holder you could join the 10am chaos.
- if any left then available to ST holders with membership

Aside from the opportunity to enter the ballot there was no priority given based on historical attendance. The cynic in me might suggest this was mainly to maximise the opportunity of selling memberships at £40 a pop.

I imagine it will be the same next season.

In fairness, outside the big sides tickets were generally obtainable.

I think the cynic in you is right. As a ST holder home games weren’t an issue but I bought the membership to be eligible for the ballot for away games only to find the percentage held back was tiny.

I actually wrote an email to the club about it at the time, pointing out that somebody who hadn't attended for 20 years would have the same chance (after the ballot) as someone who had attended a high percentage of games over the same time period.

I was essentially told how important it was for the club to attract new supporters and extend the fanbase such that the stadium is full once I'm gone.

I'd like to think I have a few years left in me.

Will be interesting to see how home tickets work out. Aside from the big games (Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal etc) they weren't too hard to get last time, particularly after Xmas.

Wonder if they'll tweak the membership and/or the away scheme. There's little incentive for season ticketbhilders to buy membership if they don't already have the away points to qualify to buy tickets (they won't go to 10+)
