Maybe the Cornhuskers could become our Dortmund of the US, with similar reciprocal visits & followings?

Indeed, probably not by tractor though! You never know what might happen, from small acorns big oak trees grow. COYCH's !

I’ve never been. We did just that flew over it to Nevada, California, Oregon and then flew back to Maine. I have had a look and of course the Cornhuskers are part of the intercollegiate setup. We used to go and watch the Maine Bears and they were the same (although probably a lower league). That college setup isn’t something we’re used to back over here in the UK is it. Aren’t they amateur? I can’t think of any non-professional sports in the UK that get anywhere near the amount of fans.

They changed it recently where players can now be paid (to an extent). So much money in college sports, the TV rights insane. You also need to think of all the states without professional teams that have a large population, Alabama, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, Kentucky etc. Strong sense of community and alumni.

Entire towns are even build around high school football in various places, Friday night lights and all that. It’s quite romantic in sports sense really.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Maine Bears hockey was very much like that. A real community spectacle. Great fun for the kids and I loved it too. Not a drink-fest like you get at events over here either.

Poll: Escaped Goat of the day. Who’s it going to be?

Breweries, cheap housing, great steaks, sports, American women, what’s not to like!

Well actually the tax is rather high as they don’t get many tourist dollars and maybe the outside threat of tornados.

When I was in Omaha I had a bout 4 different taxes on my restaurant the bill. It’s a pretty wholesome place though with good people in my experience. Got a friend who lives on the Iowa/Nebraska border just outside of Omaha.

I haven’t been to Lincoln but heard good things.

Gotta admit tornados would terrify me!
