Club has admitted to a series of offences, and been expelled from the competition.
Clubs get expelled from the FA Cup all the time for accidental, single offences such as fielding ineligible players, this was punishment for serially and intentionally breaching rules.
Anyone who references a punishment of £100m+ fails to understand that this is not the punishment, that is a consequence of the punishment, but shows disrespect for Hull etc.

I wholeheartedly agree with the ban, the points deduction etc but I cannot help feeling a bit sorry for the fans. They had no say in this and they certainly didn't ask their club to cheat. Put yourselves in their shoes.
However, there's not much that they can do about it. We know ourselves that when the powers that be at football clubs make decisions that affect us there's nothing we can do about it. |  | | |

The pressure against QPR was the same (win to go up, any other result almost cetainly not), but I think the fighting draw at St Mary's did help with the atmosphere and morale going into the final game. A dismal defeat would have left us very much feeling on the back foot.
One advantage we probably had was that our success this season has been based upon team integration and energy allowing individual brilliance to shine, rather than set piece routines or unusual formations. Not so much in the way of specifics for a spy to pick up on. | |

Lets not forget that they likely 'spied' more times than the games that they have admitted to (conveniently Oxford where they lost in Dec and Ipswich draw in April)
There could be an argument that they cheated their way into the play offs in the first place and the likes of Wrexham could be aggrieved.

Completely agree. Rumours that some Southampton players want to claim for loss of earnings as a result of not being promoted is also crazy to me - they are going to have a hard time proving that in Court given the context... | | | |
