And this was recorded 60 years ago last month!
Must have been some experience back then to have played the record for the first time and heard this.
Amazing to think that they recorded Paperback Writer and it's B-Side 'Rain' during the 'Revolver' sessions but didn't put it on the album.
See also: Daytripper/ We Can Work It Out during the Rubber Soul sessions Penny Lane/ Strawberry Fields Forever during the St Pepper sessions Hey Jude/ Revolution during the White Album sessions

A deliberate ploy as they did not want fans to have to pay twice for the same song by buying the single and also the album. That altruistic attitude changed in 1967 with the Magical Mystery Tour album that included the hits like All You Need Is Love and I Am The Walrus. The Beatles really were wonderful.

A point of order. The Magical Mystery Tour LP was an American album which had songs from the movie on side one and cobbled together the singles and B sides from 1967 which weren’t on any album. In the UK Magical Mystery Tour was just a double e.p with just the six movie songs on it. I have an original copy of this. In the 70’s Parlophone started releasing the American album for the British market.
The Yanks had an awful habit of butchering albums and adding the singles which meant up until Pepper, the Beatles actually released more albums in the States than they did in the UK. Of course The Beatles had no control over their American output.
