Anyone got any musical memories of The Dome 17:40 - May 30 with 545 viewsGeoffSentence

In Gatacre Road ,Ippy?

I have a fuzzy recollection of watching The Damned there in the 90s, but not sure if that really was the case.

I definitely saw Buster Bloodvessel there, though can't remember if he was solo or was with Bad Manners.

I wonder what the bands who played there made of the place, since it was the hall of a primary school and everything was scaled accordingly, including the urinals.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

Wasn’t there a dome at Holywells school too ?
For some reason I have a feeling Echo and the bunnymen played there after they became famous with or without Ian McCulloch .. either way what a depressing thought.

Think the installation of those geodesic domes at primary schools was down to Melanie who was married to Sean Halpenny of Orwell Books for a while. Or she worked for the firm of architects responsible...

Never knew bands played there.

I just had a look on the setlist website to see who played the Dome. They only have records of The Damned (twice) and Judy Tzuke. That seems a bit sparse a history for a venue? That site normally has a lot of historical detail on venues when I've used it before.

Kind of connected…the Albion Mills pub potential death trap basement … I’m sure played host to a big name in their early days .. I kind of what to think it was the manics ?
