Seems quite a few of the early favourites are out of the picture

Big Ange - still at W/C so unlikely
Rosenior - taking a break from football
Knutsen - back surgery
Barry - at W/C

Early mentions still in contention

OGS
ONeil
Barry-Murphy

Also noticed odds seem to have shortened on Bredan Rodgers

Ooh, I hope that’s true. I wondered if his and Ashton’s previous time may have made that one a possibility. I’d drive to Qatar to pick him up. We’re not going to have any chance with someone else with a similar CV. He’s the continuity candidate too (FWIW, but people keep talking about that). Plays a similar albeit more expansive style, but more importantly works non-stop and is a details man like KM, is thoroughly prepared before each match and is meant to be a phenomenal man manager. He’d probably split the fans though. He’s a bit marmite.

Oh, and he’s a name who would attract top players.

Why are you driving to Qatar, when he’s in Saudi?

In all seriousness, not sure how feasible he is, read that he’s reportedly earning around £10m - £15m out in Saudi. Think there’s tax implications when coming back too, part of the reason Gerrard is still out of work, but may be wrong.

I like to take the scenic route!

I doubt he’s close to feasible, but you never know. He would due come back to Swansea after Liverpool for (presumably) far less money, but the club did a last minute u-turn and offered their existing manager a new deal. Once you’ve earned well north of £1M per year take home for a decade or more, topped up with £5M+ for a year, how many more millions to you need? He must be bored crapless over there.

His win percentage at every club he's managed is impressive.

Would we consider Southgate? Not sure he’d take it but i’d be intrigued.

I have been saying Brendan Rodgers should be the next Ipswich Town manager about ten mins after Mckenna left. Rodgers has premiership knowhow and has won the FA cup whilst with Leicester in Premier league. Hes been in eurooe with leicester, finished 2nd with Liverpool, and he has won everything with Celtic twice over. He has worked with Ashton at Watford and he has a reputation and contacts that will attract better players. He is a simple, smart, knowledgeable and successful manager who would play lovely football.
