Some Perth/Western Australia (WA) facts for you:
- London is closer to Moscow than Perth is to any of the other cities in Australia
- Perth is closer to Jakarta in Indonesia than any other city in Australia apart from Adelaide. Perth to Brisbane is about the same distance as London to Cairo
- WA is almost 11 times larger than the UK and if WA was a country in its own right then it would be the 10th largest in the world (just after Khazakhstan)
- WA has a population of 3 million, with 2.4 million living in Perth. The second largest 'city' in WA is Bunbury which has a population less than half of Ipswich
- Accordingly the only places in the world with a lower population density than WA are Greenland and the Falklands
