Already bored of hearing tenuous links to 1966.

Mike Bushell on BBC breakfast this morning mentioned that last night was the first time England had won a game 4-2 in a finals since that date.

Someone should put together a film of every time it gets mentioned during the tournament It would last about 20 minutes I'm sure.

I'm not sure Mike Bushell has that much time to fill. They only allow him on the telly for 15 minutes a day.

I'm so dissociated from the 1966 world cup bow because it adds an arbitrary sense of pressure and expectation. Don't get me wrong, it is a proud achievement to hold, but boring when used as a ball and chain.
