I simply can’t believe Ashton’s ego would allow him to make such a generic appointment. Him being a coach-hiring-genius was one of the reasons we were told it would have been reckless to get rid of him this summer.

I kind of get what you mean.

I saw him interviewed on some magazine programme about eighteen months ago and ended up torn between the opinion that he was quite a smart, progressive young coach and a buzzword bullsh*t merchant that sounded like some AI generated manifestation of a modern coach.

He certainly rated himself.

Guess we’re now going to find out in the coming months if there’s any actual substance to him…
