I understand your pain, but it might help if you're aware that the simplicity of the will itself is largely irrelevant when it comes to probate. It's the size and complexity of the estate itself that will determine how much time needs to be spent on it, and the resultant charge if the beneficiaries want someone else to do it.

And on that note may I suggest that as we approach our final years we start to think about gifting as much as we can to our nearest and dearest, both for their benefit in the current economic climate and as a way of simplifying an estate when the inevitable happens. Keep abreast of inheritance tax rules when doing this.

Very surprised it’s not all been announced. Less than two months until we kick off against Sunderland and a lot to do. I’m hoping these deals Ashton mentioned for players will be sorted soon as well. Last week Phil’s reported the deal would be concluded and possibly announced over the weekend. That’s long gone.

A manager doesn't need to be announced to begin working, or at least to be consulted on things like transfer possibilities (always assuming there is nothing which could still cause the deal to fall through).

Thanks fellas re Probate "do-it-yourself"...Ill be honest I've had a helluva last 2-3 yrs with my uncles care , and slow death ... its taken it out of me. I think he was trying to help re Solicitors being Executors of the will... It is a simple will Im sure .. Only me and a friend of his to benefit, as his wife died 2015 and they had no children.... He was 97 yrs old and a Town fan to the end bless him ...the pair of them were former Churchman Stand seat Holders . I suppose I haven't got the strength to deal with this paperwork now ... Had so much of it while he was alive trying to get him NHS help .. Impossible! I just think solicitors are one big p*** take and definitely on the make . Ill just have to suck it up ...

probably why Im informed my uncles solicitors are charging near £5oo per hour +vat ...then TWO solicitors rock up to speak to me regarding him Probate.. costing almost £1000k per hr ... and there's nothing I can do about it .. as it was his wishes ..Im informed it will cost £15-20k to do tis probate ... Its obscene ..just helping themselves to his estate , in what is a very simple Will.
