I’ve been somewhat sceptical about this appointment.
But given the lack of any credible alternatives and given how well he has articulated his plans and his ethos AND what is clearly an early understanding of Ipswich and Suffolk.
I’m impressed.
I’m also sensing that the process has had a depth we didn’t give the club credit for.
We’ll only make 17th if we come to gather now and back O’Neil.
I also liked what I’m hearing about culture and player relationships.
And finally there is a likability and intelligent coming through very strongly.
Excellent questions Phil, best of the lot. Lack of cheese aside.
Agree. I thought he came across well (and, yes, that can be well-prepped, media training, etc.). Still, better than not coming across well, and he seems to get the club and the region. Back the boss, uppa towen!

I bet he came across as very professional when the Yanks interviewed him.
Sounds like from what Ashton said there were two key things:
1) his presentation (which to you point will have included the Americans) showed a very clear plan, philosophy and playing system that can achieve 17th 2) in speaking to people who have worked with him across his career some of the red flags were removed
If we don’t compare him to McKenna and compare him to the previous 3 or 4 he certainly deserves a chance. Young and hungry, with experience and a point to prove. I’m behind him and would love nothing more than him being a success.

Not sure there weren’t credible alternatives babes but I've always liked you and your passion so I’m with you. Gary O’Neills barmy army!
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Not so sure after Ashton says he fits the culture of the club. So, prone to splitting the fan base, blatant lying and failure to take accountability it is then. After all it is Ashton's club!
