KM was hardly an effervescent character, I suspect your view may be clouded by his success.
Obviously GON doesn’t have any credit in the bank, so a poor start will inevitably lead to some fans getting on his back. Personally I’ll be comparing what he does to how KM got on during his Premier League season, it will be the only way to remain sane.

I wouldn't have thought there would be too much positivity from anywhere if we're 'rooted to the foot of the table', irrespective of the manager. Nor should there be.
Last time out was a free hit, we overachieved by getting promoted and we were always going to be up against it to even remain semi competitive. We need a different expectation now though, we're a parachute club bouncing back to the PL. While staying up is still a big ask, its a path that has been trodden by many. We're not plucky little back to back Ipswich now, we've come up with an expensive squad by Championship standards, 18th should be a bare minimum expectation this time, but ideally a place higher. |
One year to early I agree, is there an AI where you could stay a year in the champ recruit from higher up like we did in div 1 and then compare to how we actually did going straight up.

He was, charismatic to some degree, but just because one person doesn't see charisma in a person, doesn't mean others don't.
For one, I find it evident that GON is relishing the opportunity to take on this role, he seems motivated and full of belief. In what way is that a bad thing, given the squad are on a high from promotion, but also in shock over Kieren's departure?
Have you considered that a change of character to one that exudes confidence and belief at a slightly higher level than KMcK may be the panacea needed for this season?
