This petition is around 8,000 signatures short to ensure a parliamentary debate.
I have a personal interest in this. Last autumn I sought medical help due to a bad back. Eventually a doctor thought Prostate. I was tested had a very high, abnormal reading. After all the tests & scans the result was the cancer had spread outside the Prostate, been carried around my body and was found to be widespread to lymph nodes, bones and bone marrow. Too late to be cured. Only treatment offered is palliative. Hormone treatment as Cancer feeds off testosterone. On injections for life, or until the injections stop working, in reality chemical castration.
The more people who are screened, the more lives will be saved.
Not looking for sympathy just a few minutes of your time and your name added to the petition.
I am currently looking for a way to arrange a cost free testing session locally . If it comes to fruition will let everyone know.

Signed and also emailed my local MP asking him whether he had signed the petition and is a vocal supporter of prostrate screening.
I’m now 69 and I’ve had 2 TURP (prostate size reduction surgery identified by regular PSA check ups and MRI scans). Thankfully the biopsies from both operations were negative, but with my PSA count creeping up again I had another MRI a couple of weeks ago which revealed a lesion was present. I will have another biopsy procedure next week to check whether the lesion is the onset of cancer or not. Can only hope for the best 🤞🏻🙏🏻 |  | | |

That was one of the first things my doctor told me after telling me I had prostate cancer. Very reassuring to know and hugely different to how things were 25 years ago |  |

I read somewhere years ago that all men are due to get it at some stage but we normally get finished off by something else before then. |  |
