When I was in my mid-teens my father told me the Stones would “never last” and that my peers and I would grow out of it. I’m 70 now and still pleased with stuff they, and others who were about over fifty years ago, are releasing. None of it is cutting edge but still bloody good!

True but there are so many excellent new bands coming through that deserve airplay and funding whilst The Stones surely have had enough of both of those over their careers.
