We are all awaiting news of our next signing & if you are like me, checking TWTD for updates whenever you get a free minute during the working day. But it has been very quiet so far, frustratingly so.
But what do we actually want?
I like Fatawu & think he would be a good signing for us, so obviously I'm happy to read that we are interested in him & have made enquiries; that is a long way from having made a bid or even knowing if he would be interested in coming here though, & it certainly doesn't suggest that a deal is anywhere near done with either player or club. So are we any better for knowing of the interest at this stage, when it might go nowhere or could alert a rival club to come in for him before we do possibly progress it?
News is all about clicks now so I get it, & our insatiable need for immediate information is the driver, but ultimately, are we perhaps better off knowing nothing until Phil posts the story confirming that the signing has been completed, or is at the very least, imminent? |  |

Well you seem to be suggesting that you would rather not hear anything at all unless it's a confirmed bid, or the transfer is being confirmed? Feel free to stop me if I've got this wrong.

Things leak, and those leaks will be reported, you'd have to assume, (you'd be Naive if you didn't), that other clubs know an awful lot of stuff that we are doing which doesn't leak externally, which they hear from agents or 'friendly' staff at rival clubs.

Are you saying that Phil shouldn't report these rumours? unless its, as you put it, 'completed, or is at the very least, imminent' I don't see how my original reply to you, has mis-interpreted this? But let me know if I have rather than responding passive aggressively, its all good, if I got it wrong, I got it wrong, your OP isn't 100% clear.
So again, if you don't mind? Are you literally suggesting it might be best for Phil to only report the stuff that is 95-100% certain. Why? [Post edited 17 Jul 10:51]
