I try not to engage it in too much as I don’t think it’s very good for the soul.
There’s of course plenty of games you want the other team to lose, whether it’s your rivals or a promotion rival (we all know about that since 22-2023) but tomorrow is just bitterness and anger really, I’ll admit it.
I’ve very much enjoyed the World Cup summer (at least I had until Wednesday night) so screw it, I’ve got my Rioja picked for the game and will go for a nice lunch at the tapas bar.
The ultimate hate watch was probably Norwich v Boro final in 2015 for multiple reasons but tomorrow is up there for me after this last week. Any others over the years?

The Germany v Argentina final in 1990 I couldn't even bear to watch. I'm positive we'd have turned Argentina over.

Too young to remember 1990, so this one is probably my equivalent to that. I thought about not watching but I just want to see those lot lose to make myself feel better.
I think going to a few games this summer made me feel more part of it and I really hope Spain win after the way the Argentines behaved (as I knew they would). | |

I can accept losing to any opposition, but not them. I’ve always liked Spain back to the years when they were more like 20-25th in the world and used to lose good games to average opposition so at least it’s not like France are the oppo for Argentina.
Don’t get me wrong, they deserved it the other night. My only gripe is that fernandez should been in a prison cell by the time he scored. |  | | |

Yep! Waited 28 years from my tears on a school night to have a chance to beat them and in a World Cup SF and with history at stake, a final place on the line (which the majority of our population have never seen), we retreat.

The media loves to find a specific person or reason for failure. He panicked there no doubt with the subs towards the end but we retreated long before that. 1986 was always the one for me, at uni and watched with a load of mates. Didn’t see the handball initially but then the replay left us a bit stunned.
There’s all this about how we should show passion and commitment to succeed but if we’d done everything they did you know we’d have been down to 8 men by half time | | | |

Agreed but he didn’t instruct them to retreat to the penalty area and play 2 passes in 20 minutes. Mind you if he did he should be sacked. The FA won’t sack him having given him a new contract. Would like to see Howe get a go after euros though | | | |
