But surely they won't be able to start having had zero pre-season minutes?

Oh I am sure he has a hammie injury, wasn't doubting that it was all the other stuff he said "he's still an ipswich player until I hear otherwise", etc.

We could tie up quick signings who wouldn't be the players the club need for a relegation and then all fans will moan. We all have no idea what is happening maybe 2 quality CMs could be ready but waiting for the dominoes to fall. Its like this every season why do we think it will be different despite what MA might say about getting players in early. |  | | |

He said they won't be involved in pre-season friendlies, not that they won't be involved in pre-season. There is a difference between playing in a competitive matches, and working in the training ground for a player coming back from an operation. | | | |

He said they won't be involved in pre-season friendlies, not that they won't be involved in pre-season. There is a difference between playing in a competitive matches, and working in the training ground for a player coming back from an operation. |
Yes sorry I meant matches.
I know friendlies are different but you still need an element of match sharpness.

Agree - but it doesn't need to be a competitive friendly. They may be involved in some behind closed doors / U21s / internal training 'matches' as part of their prep.
Is them being involved as Sunderland at risk? Yeah, it must be, but I don't think its entirely out of the question, depending on where they are on their recovery, and what they can be involved in over the next 3 weeks. | | | |
