I know it won't happen, but if they were both at their best for us, that would be a decent enough front two for a lower Premier League side, alongside Hirst and Emersonn as the other options.

As mentioned before and shown Delaps performances before 'that' chelsea game were fantastic, the Delap after that was what Chelsea saw themselves, imo it's unfortunately someone who got the move he wanted and since then it's like you are watching a completely different player.

If he comes back fine, but i think a mid prem side will take him and see if they can reignite something. But if he's on that reported 150k a week, if he's happy with that, we might never see that ipswich version of delap for a long while.

It really isn't binary before and after that particular match Frimmers Delap was a young player in his first full season at PL level, of course his form fluctuated. He achieved far more than we had a right to expect when we signed him but the rough edges were there in the 'good' half season as much as the good parts were there in the 'bad'.

The other factor, of course, is that the team as a whole were broadly competitive up until January abut less so afterwards.

So you take only the context of the season that supports your view and not the context of the previous season which doesn't support your view?

Some impressive cherry picking there.

A season at Hull, a season with us and a season with Chelsea. if you take the performances across his whole career I would say the good performances are the anomaly. But as I say, we'll just have to wait and see.
