Delap would probably need to be a loan. I doubt we would meet the asking price or pay his wages in full. The other thing with signing him permanently is that if we go down and he has performed, he would likely want a move to try and force his way into the Euros squad so we would lose him again and I would imagine he would have a release clause in his contract so we likely wouldn't even make a profit.
I suppose it doesn't really matter but I would prefer a loan with an option to buy if we stay up. Not that I think it has any chance of happening. |  | | |

If I wanted to cherry pick to make a point, I would refer to the games at home against Utd and Chelsea when he was virtually unplayable. Also Liverpool first half when he ruined Quansah's season in 45 minutes.

As mentioned before and shown Delaps performances before 'that' chelsea game were fantastic, the Delap after that was what Chelsea saw themselves, imo it's unfortunately someone who got the move he wanted and since then it's like you are watching a completely different player.
If he comes back fine, but i think a mid prem side will take him and see if they can reignite something. But if he's on that reported 150k a week, if he's happy with that, we might never see that ipswich version of delap for a long while. | |
