I wonder who might pop up in central midfielder we got Nunez, Humphreys, Barbrook and Compton available and could use Ogbene or maybe Johnson in there I suppose, who else do we think might pop up in there ?

He has the legs, good at transporting the ball/break through the lines with speed, should have enough understanding of defenisve positioning for interceptions and cutting out angles, etc. Don't think it will happen, would leave us short on alternatives on the left - but I would be interested to see how he would take it on.

It's like that Harry Redknapp story where he put a fan up front at a friendly game. As i said time and time again, getting Teddy Bishop back, he could be our midfield solution considering we have no midfielders.

Johnson and Greaves for the LB spot, not disastrous.

I have been shot down on this idea many times. Leifs biggest asset is his fitness and playing CM is the best place for your fittest players. In some people's eyes you just have to get in the way when you play CM and stop people coming through or kind of force them sideways or back. I would be a big advocate for this and it is clear to me Greaves should play LB as he us decent with the ball and a much better defender. But that's football. Its all about opinions. Sometimes it takes quite a long time for others to accept your point of view and see its value. We are yet to really see this new managers new ideas and shape as such. It will be interesting to see what he does.

Agree with what you say, even though IF Leif were to florish in the CM position I would want a replacement out on the left side. But one big positive with Leif in a central position is that when he wins the ball (or receives the ball) he will have the whole field that opens up for his left foot (compared to when he plays on the left side). As I say, it would be an interesting test. I think he posses lots of assets and attributes (in theory) to do this position well.

Only thing that would worry me a little is physicality. Midfield will generally be where your physical monsters will be. Matusiwa vs Davis for example could be a mis match, then put him up against better/bigger players that Matusiwa and he could get lost.

Yes this is the only problem I really foresee where playing him there potentially falls down. We may never know if it could work?
