I think the FA saw (as many others did) that the decision not to sack Eckert was to avoid the compensation pay-out, with the expectation that the FA banning him from football would give them a route to terminating his contract without requirement to pay him anything. I imagine this annoyed the FA somewhat and they have decided to drag it out as long as possible to maximise the effect it has on Southampton.

The fact that he seems to know when his partner is due to give birth suggests that he (or someone from the club) was there at the child's conception as well. The man's incorrigible!
