Our 3 promotions have been the obstacle to him breaking into the team & getting a run of games. He could well do a job in a mid table Championship side, but the idea of him playing PL football this season, up against Rice, Anderson, Tonali etc. is fanciful in the extreme.

Take away the “come on you tractor boys” novelty of Nunez, and half decent set pieces, what has he actually got? Everywhere Cam has gone, the fans have raved about him. This pre-season, he’s been consistently the best player on the pitch. He absolutely ran the game last night, and it’s no coincidence that when O’Neil changed the whole team at half time, he still left him on, clearly intrigued by what he could do. I’m not going to say McKenna got it wrong - Cam is still only 22, and for most of McKenna’s reign, he’s been an inexperienced youngster. But his loans have done him good and he’s come back a completely different beast. |
Nunez played the equivalent of 25 full games last season 2325 minutes and made 14 goal contributions , very decent really. Not saying one day Cam couldn’t do that, but he is miles off at present. He made 4 in the equivalent of 16 matches in league 1

And not as yet established himself in the Championship. A championship loan is the best way forward for him if it's possible.

Yeah. I don't see Nunez as anything more than a quality utility player from the bench at PL level but the reality is we don't get promoted without him coming off in the 10. Already paid his fee many times over even if he never kicked another ball.

| Humphreys on 07:46 - Aug 5 by Gary_Knows | He’s just not going to be, is he? O’Neil admitted last night we still want ‘1 or 2 in there’, and I suspect that’s before any departures. Like Baggott, time for him to go somewhere permanent and make a career for himself. |
This. He's a good player but he's not a Premier League player however much people want him to be. If he was anywhere near as good as the hype merchants on here would have us believe there would be bids of £5m+ coming in from half of the Championship. Strongly suspect he will end up going to a top L1 club for around £1m.
