I've not put myself forward as the representative of the fans. Bobby's Vision have.
There has been plenty of discussion on here that has put forward alternative views on :
- governance
- why Ashton has not been moved on
- what was actual said about the regulator
- what proportion of fans really care about 'that visit'
A balanced piece would have acknowledged those fan views too (after all, it's written views of fans, which the group claims to represent). That's not even to say those alternative views are necessarily correct, but a balanced piece would have at least incorporated these views.
The piece comes across as very political and biased. (and I say that as someone who totally opposes Farage/Reform, so agree with much of the comments about him/them) | | | |

The point about the governance structure maybe valid, but if you look at Brighton's model (for example) they have:
Chairman: Tony Bloom
Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman: Paul Barber
You could argue OMG are effectively that sounding board, and the ones that will hold Mark Ashton to account. It may need looking at, but I think it is a discussion/debate rather than a foregone conclusion that we need another chairman. It depends on how involved the ownership group are.
Overall, I think it is a bit of a witch hunt tbh, that is fairly devisive (which is ironic), and unhelpful at a point in time we start another season in the Premier League where we know it is going to be tough.
We need to all be pulling together.
Let the ownership group deal with Mark Ashton, they are clearly very competent. |
