There are players from last season who will struggle to get in the team. Matsuiwa, Hirst, Mcateer and Philogene may not play a lot.
But. It's mainly a good thing. Competition for places is very important, and we probably lacked it last time in the PL. |  |

We need a striker and a LCB far more than we need an 8 IMO.
We have no competition for Greaves/ Emersonn. (Kipre/ Akpom cant really be trusted to play much)
At least with Taylor you have a viable alternative to Lukic who has played in the PL. | | | |

FB: Ouattara (u21), Davis, Furlong
CB: O'Shea, Diop, Greaves, Kipre
CM: Matusiwa, Florentino, Lukic, Nunez, Taylor
AT: Fatawu, McAteer, Enciso, Egeli (u21), Maeda, J. Clarke, Philogene, Mehmeti
9: Emersonn, Akpom
I make that 25, with 23 counting towards the squad cap, so room for 2 more. I've not made any room for Humphreys, Ogbene or Al-Hamadi who will all depart one way or another.
Mehmeti & Taylor the most likely departures next (aside from keeper movement) I would think.
