Suppose we are still trying to sign one and Hirst move is on hold in case we fail ?

Unless GON is going to play Enciso in the 9 role, or rather false 9 role?

I actually think we will still get in another striker but on-loan, it wouldn't surprise me if it was Guiu from Chelsea.

I think the Hirst move is taking time because we'd like the move permanent to cash in on the player but he is sat on 3 years remaining contract on PL wages so would prefer a loan apparently.

Which is fair enough if I was in his shoes.

It might come down to us paying him the difference in his wages and what he is on at Stoke. If not we'll have to accept it and do a season loan.

I'm sure we've irons in the fire, I do wonder about Osula at Newcastle. Alternatively there's some bids we haven't even considered yet. A more mature candidate bringing some experience won't hurt.

I think that is the trouble, as players worth a lot of money on Championship wages are suddenly worth little/nothing when on Premier League wages as buying clubs cannot afford those sums. It will be disappointing if the rumoured £10m sale turns into a loan with us paying part of his wages.

Will Osula would be great, but he played himself into the Newcastle starting 11 last season, ahead of over £115m of striker signings they made last summer.

I think he'll be exactly the kind of player their new manager will enjoy, and that the club will look to keep over their more expensive, less productive options.

We need experience not Guiu. We already have Emersonn, we don’t need anyone else who isn’t experienced.
