Ticket buying question 12:21 - Aug 21 with 621 viewsBrianTablet

Apologies if asked before, but I'm trying to buy a ticket for me and my son (his first match).
Any idea why i can't buy a ticket for Sunderland (a couple of RV were available)?

It gives me the message:
Please ensure you are signed in using your Supporter ID / Customer Number. If you are signed in and are still unable to purchase, it may be that you already have too many tickets and therefore need to assign owners. Alternatively you may not qualify to purchase at this sales priority stage. Please check sales dates appropriately in order to see when you are eligible to purchase. If you continue to experience issues then please call the Ticket Office on 03330 050 503. Sorry, you cannot buy any more tickets to event Ipswich Town V Sunderland AFC 22/08/2026 15:00. Sales to this event are limited to 0 tickets per event per history per item owner

But I CAN buy tickets for the Leicester match.

Not sure of the difference. Is it because I'm not a member?

Thanks for any help.

Assuming your son is on your friends and family list, you need to reassign the 'owner' of his ticket to him before purchase, as each ticket has to be allocated to an individual registered member.

Yeah you need to be a member.

Don’t worry about RV tickets either you can see 99% of the game. It’s normally when the ball is high in the air or the corner kick taker can’t be seen.

Yes.

If you aren't a member you can't get Sunderland ticket (or presumably any league ticket)

The Cup game is on "general sale" so available to all.

Does my son need a membership too?

Yes unfortunately. Anyone who wants a ticket needs a membership. It was the same last time in the PL 2 seasons ago.

Seems like a money maker as they could just say the last few days before is general sale but the tickets won't ever be for general. Its a closed club.

Aha, thanks.
Never mind, at the end of the day it's about making money.
Shame for the next generation.
