looked nasty, upsetting as I have been a fan since his first vuelta in 2019. It should improve the racing though, at least it is a competition now, hoping Roglic or Mas wins . Pog is just too dominant. | | | |

Talking of the world championships.. I reckon we would have had a lot more withdrawals by the end of the Pog procession … under 100 finishing field as they only start a week after the end of the vuelta AND on the other side of the world (Canada).
Now.. I’m not to sure… many,and their teams will be thinking they’ve got an opportunity they didn’t expect… I guess as mentioned Rog and Mas … maybe Carapaz the obvious candidates. [Post edited 29 Aug 20:31]

2 weeks recovery for the elite men is not much. I doubt Rogla has the legs for 273 kms at Montreal nowadays especially as he will be all in for his 5th Vuelta now. Same with Carapaz, his form is not good and I think he is in decline now. I think it suits Remco. The Belgian team should give strong support. Maybe VDP.
