Hiking Coast to coast 04:48 - Sep 11 with 2602 viewsbluelagos

In a few hours, 4 of us will get to St. Bees where we start a 192 mile stroll across the Lakes, Dale's and NY moors to Robin Hoods Bay.

As an added bonus, won't be on here much for the next 3 weeks...at least during the day.. Taking 3 weeks with 3 rest days built in...

All funds raised to the absolutely brilliant RNLI, can't think of a better charity.

10.3 miles today.

Managed to headbutt a rock falling into a stream on Green up edge but apart from that, all good.

To Patterdale tomorrow, won't be doing Helvellyn or striding edge. Would have done it the others didn't fancy it :-(

What was falling, you or the rock?

How are your head and knee this morning ? And don't forget, The Lakes are just some light training to get you ready for Scotland...

Grisdale pass to some Tarn and then onto Patterdale in the shadow of Striding Edge
.
600m of ascent, but much less brutal than last two days climbs. 9.2 miles today.

Tomorrow's a killer, Kidsty Pike.

Heads fine, knee was giving me gip all night but fine on the walk. Where I hit my knee obs a good spot (kind of inside the knee) so didn't effect me at all tbh.

But tomorrow's the hike that will test us most, 2900 ft of ascent apparently.

Today we went 13 miles from Patterdale to Brampton. Close to 3000 ft of ascent through the day as we scaled Kidsty pike before walking along the ridges before descending down to some Lake.

Awesome views of the Pennines in the distance, will be for next week before they test us.

Relatively easy 12 miler tomorrow to Orton. About 800 ft of ascent.

Think of it in metres of ascent. It sounds a lot less daunting

Made it to Orton. Walk in the park (wind aside) compared to the Lakes.

Done a 1/3 of the route now, about 66 miles in total I think.

Next two days have to get to Kirby Stephen and a rest day planned / does watching Towen count as a rest day
