| Whats the expected attendance tonight? on 11:18 - Sep 15 with 1203 views | ITFC_Essex | I am sad to say, even though I am a ST holder I will not be there, because I, like so many others, just aren't going to pay those prices for what essentially the club has treated as reserve match for close to something like 20 years between Marcus Evans and Gamechanger. I am not alone in this, most of our group has had enough of Ipswich in the cup now, and while thats not on O'Neil I suspect we will see the exact same thing play out tonight we always see. I used to be an all in cup regular, but we know the drill, much changed side, bitty performance, pre-season atmosphere, I hate to say it, but watchining Ipswich in any cup game just isn't worth the money when there are other more important costs in our lives right now. Even we we had a chance at an FA Cup Quarter final a few seasons back, we still played the second string to protect the league form, and we ended up relegated 2nd bottom anyway. We could have progressed, and even played at Wembley in the semis had we tried, it would have been something nice to enjoy during a pretty rough season, but instead we got beaten by Wolves, Leicester, Southampton and pumped by an average Spurs side instead! Well worth resting for those moments instead. So I am sad to say, no, not worth the time, let alone the money even if we win, it will be exactly the same next round until we go out. | |

I suppose it's true that the cup whether this or the F.A. have over the years of KM been a side issue to the League. To me it's perfectly understandable as the owners want regular Premier League football to get back and more their investment. Whilst I understand many ST holders may see this as extra cost for something our heart hasn't been in for some seasons it does give those on waiting lists or just floaters to see a top team in action even if Arsenal don't have their first 11 on the pitch. Football is so much different now where the 16 players who don't get on the pitch from the outset must all be of a similar quality to the first 11 and be prepared not only for the odd substitution situation but also to be available for playing for weeks or months.

I think we’re more than safe from Wembley, but if you have the money to spend on watching Ipswich reserves get pumped by Arsenal, and feel it’s worth your time and money, that’s your choice, mines to stay home and not waste my time or money on it, because we aren’t interested in the slightest!

| Whats the expected attendance tonight? on 23:09 - Sep 15 with 314 views | JustAnotherOne | I’m also a season ticket holder that’s stayed away (went to Leicester) but the club seems to have got this price right for capacity with attendance at 28,966 tonight. We can’t really grumble at the price and if puts us season ticket off but allows local fair weather fans the experience to enjoy town against a top team then it’s the correct call from the club to grow the fanbase. | | | |

Probably the best part of 1M in revenue from 2 home games in the league cup. They’ll be happy with that. A load of Arsenal shirters got to see their first match though. [Post edited 16 Sep 2:57]
