| Manchester City Away - Feels totally meaningless 10:44 - Oct 12 with 2257 views | ITFC_Essex | Even if we were to get spanked 6 or 7-0, it's unlikely any of their results will stand/matter at the end of the season. This is a bit of a farce fixture while they remain in the league isn't it? Anyone else feeling as numb about it, as I am? | |

The result will still stand I'm sure, and it's just Man city who will be deducted points. Also, I very much doubt this will be sorted this season if Man City appeal etc. I can't be the only one who is bored of talking about them now. What they've done is wrong and breaks loads of rules but let's not pretend other top clubs like Man Utd and Chelsea especially, would have had some dodgy transactions. they're all at it.

| Manchester City Away - Feels totally meaningless on 12:46 - Oct 12 by Illinoisblue | It’s a massive problem for the premier league. City will dig in as much as possible. I bet sponsors and broadcasters are getting lawyers to look at their existing contracts for any escape routes. And where’s the PFA in all this? The vast majority of their members are having their careers messed around right now while City are allowed to carry on cheating. |
PFA will not get involved until a final decision is made - else they run the risk of being accused of interference - they have no role to play until decisions are made. Not sure how careers are being messed around tbh - it is not preventing footballers playing the game and being paid for doing so. Players are used to media hype and just get on with it.

The sooner the sporting sanctions are sorted, the better.

Agree. Nothing will be done that will change results. They aren't going to be kicked out the league, but I'm sure they will be effectively relegated by the points deduction imposed. For it to be a real punishment and not just a one-season tour of the Championship it needs to be multi-season, which includes points deductions next season and transfer restrictions too. Otherwise it really is still just a slap on the wrist given their level of funding.

| Manchester City Away - Feels totally meaningless on 11:45 - Oct 12 by ITFC_Essex | I haven't seen anything suggesting their results will definitely stand though, as just getting straight booted out of the league is still on the table. They only "stand" while the appeal plays out from what I have read. Any definitive sanctions or structural changes to past or present results are stalled until the independent appeal board reviews the case. Until that process reaches a final conclusion, all current results stand, but this doesn't mean that they will do afterwards. |
There is a minuscule chance they’ll be expelled, given the wider implications of the case. It’s highly unlikely 15 clubs will vote to expel them, and equally unlikely that will be the PL sanction, much more likely that there are points deductions, maybe over multiple seasons, a transfer embargo, and a fine. We cannot go up there thinking the result won’t matter, it will to us.
