John Lyall is to us, as Paul Lambert is to Norwich.

Fantastic at the time, promotions involved, but Lyall isn't someone who makes you immediately think of Ipswich the way Robson, Mills, Holland, and er, Irvin Gernon do. First thing anyone thinks of when you mention Lyall is obviously West Ham.

Same with Lambert - chances are they'd think of Celtic or Dortmund first. Norwich have their names synonymous with them, of course: Eadie, Fleck, Ken Brown etc, but Lambert isn't one of them.

I thought about Lyall last night, coming from Essex there's at least as much dislike and rivalry with West Ham as there is with Nodge but I never let that cloud my view of Lyall and I feel the same about Lambert.

	No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
