Any good offers on at the moment?

I got a case of 12 with two champagne flutes for Â£50 from Virgin Wines last year, but I'm guessing that stops me getting anything on offer from them this year?

If it was for me, then I'd be all over that! Unfortunately it's not - it's for minor family members and to help provide stocks for taking to parties over the festive period!

In those situations I try to hunt down bottles of wine given to me as gifts from people that don't like me, but serious answers is most supers do 6 bottles at a reduced price; which economically speaking is about as good as it gets.

25% off at Tesco on six bottles or more until tomorrow.

My other half works two shifts a week so we get the normal 20% off all food shopping and its double-discount for staff this week, so we get another 20% off of the 20%.

Makes Xmas food shopping a breeze.

I couldn’t really justify spending £80 on a single bottle. I’m sure Aldi and Lidl do a good version at less than a 5th of the price.

Depends how much you want to spend and how much you like wine.

Avoid supermarkets in the main.

They tend to go for the mass produced stuff which is really not great.

Go to a wine merchant. Tell them your budget and what you like. They will give you recommendations.
