As a service I actually love Amazon Prime, it's an amazing and hassle-free way to do things. Obviously many people question some of their corporate ethics, especially around tax and undercutting and they have every right to raise those concerns.
This however needs to be addressed immediately in my opinion:

Amazon doesn't require a CCV number, I think. Which is very odd.
And to your OP, at what point does a shopping portal become a 'publisher' so to speak? Same questions being asked of the social channels too- interesting debate. |  |

You can setup 2FA which theoretically should be much more secure than a CCV given you need your phone as well to generate the code.
