C4 given the chance to show it live and advertising it as "live coverage of every ball".
Just the small matter of them having to show live coverage of the F1 British GP , starting with the build up from 1.15pm and concluding with a review afterwards. Cricket coverage resumes at 4.15pm.
There's going to be a lot of live play missed at Lords in those three hours. I guess it shows why cricket needs it's own channel, free to air tv can't spare the air time to show a whole one day cricket match, yet alone a whole world cup, or even an Ashes series. |  | | |  |

Racing is very low down the priorities when it comes to free to air these days. Only the major festivals of Chelts, Aintree, Royal Ascot & York get weekday coverage (ITV), and even around 50% of big races on big Saturdays are on a minor channel rather than ITV.
Ch 4 will have to do a lot better today than the other day of the semi v. Aus. Supposed to show hughlights at 11pm, C4 didn't finish showing ads & trailers till 11.07pm, at which point they kindly informed us that the highlights were now being shown on another channel - and the freeview number of that had changed in the previous week, which they didn't tell us. Finally got tuned in at 11.09pm, by which time the first 2 wickets had fallen  |  |
