fake Amazon Prime scam calls 16:14 - Aug 25 with 987 views

I have had at least 4 of them today. I block the number, but presumably the wretched automated callers simply generate a call from a different number. Is there any way of stopping these nuisance calls?

We get them too and my parents get tons.

TPS (Telephone Preference Service) are worth a try, but they are not as good as they once were, as a lot of numbers are "unknown".

Drives us mad here, especially when waiting for an urgent call.

If you're on a BT landline, they have a call blocker option which is free - uses 1572. I've found it excellent.

I have it and have so far added 4 numbers to my blacklist today, but the calls keep coming from different numbers.

I believe that the TPS can't do much about calls that originate from overseas. Perhaps someone can shed a bit more light.

Btw forget to say that if you google unknown numbers, you find sites which tells you what it is, and gives comments from others (sometimes thousands) who've also experienced nuisance calls from it. Reporting yours there adds to the blacklist.

Yeah I google the numbers too and add a comment if I feel the call is dangerous. I had one yesterday trying to extend warranty on a washing machine I never had a warranty on.

The Amazon Prime missed payment ones I must have had about 10 during lockdown. And garbled messages about a suspicious overseas payment on my account, press 1 to confirm cancellation.
