Issues with Testing 11:45 - Oct 6 with 407 views | hype313 | Reading about the issues with PCR testing and this made the whole process quite complex. The Covid PCR test detects viral RNA not viruses themselves. Viral RNA is not infectious and does not cause illness ...it can last in the body for longer than 28 days after a Covid 19 infection has passed, in measles for example it lasts for 8 weeks or more. To find the viral RNA fragments the sample undergoes 40 multiplication cycles ,increasing the tiny fragments of RNA over a billion times in order to find it with a fluorescent dye. Similar RNA from similar coronaviruses which are not Covid 19 may show up under the test as well. No live viruses can be cultured from these samples, thus there is no active infection within the sample. The test is estimated to give false positives in 30 to 90 % of cases. The test therefore is not at all reliable when trying to find active infections or infectious people. Which basically means Locking people down or isolating people on the basis of such an unreliable test is extremely problematic.

If a poster doesn't provide a source then you can assume it is hype.
