A real shame, a great man. I had the pleasure of meeting him for a short time when I did an interview thingy at Le Gavroche many moons ago. A true gent. RIP.

Sad, his brother passed away only 9 months ago as well.

Le Gavroche is nice, very friendly and Michel Roux Jr usually comes around and has a chat with people.

It was Michel Roux Jr I went to interview. His uncle just so happened to be there at the same time.

My boss (who was not quite a gastronaut) suggested that as part of the interview we asked him to see how many onions he would need to chop before he started crying. I politely but very firmly suggested not to do that. Might see if I can dig that out today, actually. Very nice fella. Still not eaten there yet, though.

It's still the best cup of coffee I've ever had.
