Watching the extended highlights 01:19 - Mar 10 with 988 viewschrismakin

And whilst it doesn't show them all, I lost count of the number of crosses Lankester, Kenlock, Edwards etc all put in, straight into the keepers arms chest height

IF there's something specific Cook needs to drill our lads on, it's get 1000 balls, loads of mannequins and get some crosses put into the box

Whilst you are totally right, it's worth noting that we seemed to get an awful lot more into the box than any of Lambert's sides managed

Okay, the delivery maybe poor but that definitely seems to be an area which Cook has identified perhaps where he feels we can get some joy? I would expect it to improve as players get more used to doing it

It was noticeable also that the tempo seemed to be higher and we were setting out with some obvious shape to our play.

Oh 100%, I mentioned yesturday and showed highlights of Wigan under Cook, and it showed
1 - alot of crosses
2 - Box with 4 Wigan players in it on all attacks

We had this today, it's just sadly, our crossing ability is terrible and probably our best crosser of the ball is Chambers!

Totally agree regarding shape, it's the most 'organised' i've seen us in a while and that's despite a raft of players swapping places throughout the game.

I guess for PC it's the following
1 - Better Crosses
2 - Take more risks in the final third
3 - Shoot!

The set pieces seemed to be markedly better as well, perhaps his routines are more effective?

Despite all the hype around McCarthy picking physical sides, I was never that convinced with our set piece work under him, it all seemed to be the same thing over and over again

Yeah, its' definitely looking like a strong point at the moment, it doesn't look like a hit and hope something happens, there seems to be a purpose with each attempt, and the player movements have been excellent.

Defending wise... and although we've not conceded many set pieces this season, this has improved even further with a complete emphasis on keeping everyone back, seeing out the set piece before attacking now.

When reviewing Cook's previous regimes, what strikes me is how he just wants football to be simple, Defend, pass, attack, score. Simple as, doesn't want to overcomplicate things, doesn't want big squads with various different types of players in it etc. Just a solid core to work with to play simple football

I honestly can't wait for next season, IF it's not successful I will be shocked
