So the club are trying to resign Edwards... 09:37 - May 13 with 562 viewsOriginalMarkyP

...a player on (you'd assume) more money than Downes, Dozzell, Dobra and Lankaster.

A player I like BTW, but one who has seriously underperformed and had some people saying he should never play for us again after his terrible dead ball performance.

And the club keep and extend Drinan which clearly isn't to just a tactic for getting a fee.

Smacks of arrogance to me. Potentially Hurst all over again.

Edwards situation is an odd one. Given that the EADT has reported today that Cook has told the majority of the squad that they are not wanted, either Edwards is either one of the few who are wanted, which seems quite unlikely given his stuttering form this season, or we want to sign him to sell him.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

Limiting expenditure is, perhaps, no longer the overriding issue it used to be at ITFC.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

It makes no sense to sign to sell. The player can go for free and get a handsome signing on fee. Or sign and be sold and let the club take some of that money. He'd laugh in their face if that's what they were trying to do. The only reason to re-sign him is to keep him. Different situation to those like Bishop who have triggered an extra year.

Despite the erratic from of Gwion Edwards, he remains one of the few players at our club who can do something that might win us a game. Well worth resigning, especially given out lack of wide options.

Drinan is still young, and the club must see potential in him. Plus we don't have any other strikers.

Kind of missing the point of my post there fella.

Happy to re sign Edwards, it's the comparison to the others that raises some big questions

some of the players we have 'retained' I suspect are simply to try and claw back some resale value

Kayden Jackson being the obvious example

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!
