That gets used alot when talking about our youngsters
Is it just me that thinks that alot of the time, they have ended up making tackles because one of them has passed the ball to the opponent?
I'm all for stats etc of course, but I don't buy into these specifically showing how good a player is when we have seen for ourselves the likes of Dozzell etc literally give the ball away from 5 yards on more than the odd occasion. ( Hence his increase in fouls given away)
I appreciate in football of course you'll give the ball away at times, but lets not kid ourselves, we have been bloody awful at times in retaining the ball. [Post edited 13 May 2021 13:17]

most stats in isolation are only going to be partial, aren't they?
But for your example it'd be pretty easy to combine your stat (tackles/90) with a few others (passes completed/90, pass completion %, dispossessed/90, bad controls/90) to get a fair picture of what each stats represents. |  |
