They utterly fecked up on this, so why shouldn't their comms be reviewed? There should be transparency in decision making. We deserve that as a minimum given that they are supposed to be public servants. But maybe this isn't the way.
I'm not surprised these 2 claimants failed with a case brought against them; it's not going to be a fair fight. What we really need is a full independent enquiry now (not scheduled for after the next election) and these sort of 'governing by the back door' comms through apps and private emails should absolutely be part of that. If I was conducting work business on my private email I'd expect my work to want to know and see copies of what was being said (and I wouldn't try to hide it - but then I'm not as bent as a butcher's hook!).
