The one time, so far, I saw The Patti Smith Group she referenced this gig after first complaining about Cambridge Folk Festival's lighting set up (we are not fúcking Metallica) and then countering herself by saying her son really liked Metallica and any band that can light up a million and a half people in Soviet Russia (although it only had a few hours left at the time) was worth something (or words to that effect).

I have the Moscow 1991 gig on vinyl, recently released in the Black Album box set. Recorded from the mixing desk. It is magnificent.
